COVID 19 Update - March 20, 2020
Children’s Aid Societies and Indigenous Child and Family Well-Being Agencies in Ontario ARE continuing their child protection services.
We are NOT closed.
Although agencies across the province (including Family and Children's Services of Waterloo Region) have modified their business practices to respond to health and safety concerns, their core protection services continue.
If you have a concern about the safety and/or well-being of a child or youth under 18, contact us at 519-576-0540.
COVID 19 Update - March 18, 2020
As of today, the Family Centre (65 Hanson) and the Cambridge office (168 Hespeler) are closed to visitors. Following the guidelines issued by Public Health and provincial and federal governments, we have arranged for many of our staff to work at home and will encourage social distancing for those who come into the office.
If you have a visit planned with your worker, they will contact you to discuss options for connecting. Each situation will be assessed individually. Group access visits and face-to-face access visits have been cancelled. Please contact your worker if this affects you to discuss other options. The office at 200 Ardelt is the only one that will be open for visitors and all visitors will be screened at the main entrance. Screening questions
will continue to meet our mandate to respond to concerns about the
maltreatment of children, to support families in caring for their
children safely and to support children in care.
We expect this plan to be in place until April 6th , but changes may be required as new information becomes available.
