COVID 19 Update - April 1st, 2020

Support for Families and Children Continues

Despite the COVID-19 emergency, Family and Children’s Services of Waterloo Region is NOT
CLOSED
. We have modified how we work in order to respond to health and safety concerns,
but core protection services continue. We will continue to meet our mandate to respond to
concerns about the maltreatment of children, to support families in caring for their children
safely and to support children in care.

Following the guidelines issued by Public Health and provincial and federal governments, we
have arranged for many of our staff to work at home and will encourage social distancing for
those who come into the office. We are using a variety of options for meetings and connecting
with families and youth.

If any community member or professional has concerns about the safety and/or well-being of a
child or youth under 18, please contact us at 519-576-0540.

The offices at 65 Hanson (The Family Centre) and 168 Hespeler Road in Cambridge are closed to
visitors. The main office at 200 Ardelt is screening all potential visitors as well as staff.
If you need to visit the office, please call ahead (519-576-0540) to make an appointment.
