To continue to support the work that we do, the Agency is looking for a full time Family Centre Administrative Assistant to join our team to fill an existing vacancy.

The Family Centre Administrative Assistant provides administrative and customer service support to the Family Centre, supporting its vision of collaboration and community development for at‑risk children and families in the local community. Working closely with the Facilities Manager, this role helps ensure a welcoming, well‑organized, and responsive environment for community partners, families, and visitors.

  • Oversees daily administrative and customer service operations of the Family Centre, including bookings, contracts, tours, and facility readiness.
  • Coordinates audiovisual and technology support for renters in collaboration with IT services.
  • Provides comprehensive administrative support to the Family Centre Manager and project teams, including meeting coordination, documentation, registration, and reporting support.
  • Assists with Family Centre communications, including newsletters, social media, website updates, and promotional materials.
  • Acts as back‑up support for reception services as required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications:

  • College diploma preferred, or secondary school diploma combined with relevant experience.
  • Sound working knowledge of computers - Windows, Microsoft Word, and Excel essential; Publisher and other design software an asset; experience on social media platforms an asset.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with strong organizational abilities.
  • Demonstrated customer service and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working from an equity perspective with marginalized communities.

Employment at Family & Children's Services of the Waterloo Region is conditional upon the verification of credentials and employment, a satisfactory police check, and a satisfactory Child Welfare check.

Salary Range: $50,386.23- $60,890.10 per annum (Office & Clerical, Grade 5)

Hours of Work:  34 hours per week
