To continue to support the work that we do, the Agency is looking for a full-time Administrative Assistant- Legal to join our Legal Services team to fill an upcoming vacancy.
The role provides comprehensive legal administrative support to Counsel, including the preparation, filing, and management of court documents and files. Responsibilities include coordinating court schedules and appearances, tracking court proceedings and dispositions, liaising with the Superior Court of Justice-Family Court, and maintaining accurate court files. The position also supports Counsel through general correspondence and administrative duties related to court proceedings.
Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications:
- Community College diploma or equivalent in relevant field
- Minimum of three (3) years legal administrative assistance experience
- Family Law experience preferred
- Sound working knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Office Word, Excel and DivorceMate
- Knowledge of Family Law Rules, Rules of Civil Procedure and court procedures
- Ability to work well independently and with a team environment
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and complete work efficiently and with attention to detail
- Knowledge of child welfare would be considered an asset
Employment at Family & Children's Services of the Waterloo Region is conditional upon the verification of credentials and employment, a satisfactory police check, and a satisfactory Child Welfare check.
Salary Range: $50,386.23- $68,690.16 per annum (Office and Clerical, Grade 6)
Hours of Work: 34 hours per week
