Accounting Clerk - 12-Month Contract

To continue to support the work that we do, the Agency is looking for a full-time contract Accounting Clerk tojoin our Finance team to fill an existing vacancy. This will be a 12-month contract.

The Accounting Clerk ensures timely and accurate processing of invoices, including input, payment verification, and monthly accrual preparation. Key responsibilities also encompass statement reconciliation and invoice generation. All accounting functions are performed in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and relevant Broader Public Sector regulations

Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications:

  • Community College Diploma in Accounting
  • Minimum two (2) years accounting experience preferred
  • Strong database skills required, including Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Excellent attention to detail and good organizational skills
  • Demonstrate professional, respectful, collaborative working relationships
  • Ability to work well independently and with a team environment
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and complete work quickly and efficiently
  • Knowledge of child welfare would be considered an asset

Employment at Family & Children's Services of the Waterloo Region is conditional upon the verification of credentials and employment, a satisfactory police check, and a satisfactory Child Welfare check.

Salary Range: $50,386.23 - $60,890.10per annum (Office & Clerical, Grade 5)

Hours of Work:  34 hours per week
