Family and Children’s Services of the Waterloo Region is celebrating National Foster Family Appreciation Week October 16 – 20, 2023. Family and Children’s Services of the Waterloo Region thanks foster caregivers for the important role they play in the lives of children, youth, and families in our community. Foster caregivers provide a safe and nurturing home for children and youth while also working towards the goal of family reunification. Jillian Lowe has been dedicated to fostering children for 14 years. Her daughter, Tiffany Cole, was inspired by her mother and she began providing foster care 3 years ago. Jillian and Tiffany’s families work together as a strong team to meet the needs of all of the children in their care. They are currently caring for a large sibling set of children between them. Jillian and Tiffany will drop by each others’ homes daily, help each other with childcare or transportation needs, and enjoy fun activities together with the children. Their passion and commitment to fostering is evident in all they do. Thank you to all of the foster families who continue to open their hearts and their homes to children and youth in the Waterloo Region.

Currently, Family and Children’s Services of the Waterloo Region is in need of foster homes for children and youth of all ages. Families can learn more about fostering at our next Foster Information Session on November 21, 2023. Please visit our website at www.fosteringkids.ca.
