Month of June - Celebrating:
Pride Month
National Indigenous History Month

The Family Centre recognizes that violence against Black People is the result of historic and ongoing structural legacies. We are committed to continuously striving towards challenging and dismantling the structures that perpetuate interpersonal and social-political racism against Black People. Also, we are committed to anti-racism philosophy and action in solidarity with Indigenous peoples and other racialized minorities. The Family Centre is a caring, knowledgeable and an action oriented community.

We believe Black Lives Matter!

Manager's Message
As we currently operate under the unusual circumstances created by COVID-19, we yearn to go back to the familiar and older ways of living, working and connecting with one another. While the struggles with COVID-19 continue to emerge and unfold, we want to tell the Corona Virus and the world around us that we are determined to stay, to grow and to contribute to the well-being of our communities as a collective. Our present circumstances require us to slow down and pay attention to how we are managing our lives and how others are managing their lives. Click here to learn more...

A COMMUNITY OF COLLABORATION
Although our doors have temporarily been closed The Family Centre’s team and In-House Partners have been working behind the scenes to continue connecting with you. We are intentional about collaboration; building community in four ways:

In-House Partnerships: Working closely with a broad range of partner organizations that run services, supports, and programs out of The Family Centre.
COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIPS: Collaborating proudly with a number of community organizations to offer programming, events and supporting many members of the Waterloo Region community. Over the years, we have seen these partnerships grow -and are looking forward to what the future will bring!

COMMUNITY RENTALS: The Family Centre has various meeting rooms and other multi-purpose facilities such as our gym/auditorium which is utilized by a very larger number of community organizations and groups. Rent is nominal as the purpose is to have low cost and high quality meeting and training space available in our community.

SPECIAL PROJECTS: Currently, there are three projects:

Morning Glory Café at The Family Centre, is a social enterprise that supports work and life- skills development in youth referred to the program through Family & Children’s Services in partnership with Ray of Hope.
