Preschool Support Program

We believe that all children and their families should be able to fully participate in quality, inclusive, licensed Early Learning and Child Care (ELCC) services. Families who are receiving child welfare services are given a coordinated service that helps them access an ELCC program. This includes developmental screening and assessment, inclusion support, and facilitated referrals to a variety of special needs agencies in the community when additional supports or services are required.

The Preschool Support Program at Family and Children’s Services is one of four members of the Special Needs Resource Collaborative of Waterloo Region. These partnering agencies provide supports for children with special needs to attend licensed early learning and child care programs in Waterloo Region.

We are committed to inclusive early learning and child care that promotes healthy child development. We believe parents/guardians should be involved in all decisions about the well-being of their family. We believe children and families should receive similar services regardless of where they live in Waterloo Region.
