NEW WEEKEND IN MAY
May 12, 2012
For many of the children served by Family and Children’s Services, camp, or other recreational activities, is not an option. The chance to play hockey, learn an instrument, or go to summer camp just are not possible without the support of this community.
The Family and Children’s Services and the Foundation Board of Directors want to ensure that every child has the opportunity to discover a new talent or skill. This was the motivation behind the creation of the HOT SHOTS Street Hockey Tournament. This event aims to provide children living in the community with summer camp experiences, enabling them to expand their horizons, build confidence, life skills, and their self-esteem.
At any time Family and Children’s Services is working with over 1200 at-risk families in the community for which they receive no recreational funding.
Last year we paid for over 600 weeks of camp.

You can help contribute to the event’s success by: registering a team or pledging another, sponsoring the event, donating a prize, or volunteering. Come out and be a part of the magic!
