In addition to the events the Foundation hosts, we rely on support from many community groups who

Breakfast of Champions .......................February
The Breakfast of Champions event is co-hosted by the Foundation and our partners at 96.7 CHYM FM to
honour and acknowledge the heart-warming support of our community Champions.

Glass Slipper Affair................ April
A fun evening socializing in a sophisticated atmosphere surrounded by cocktails and shoes. 
Each year a different theme will be the focus of the event, 2010: Old Hollywood, 2011: Breakfast at Tiffany’s.
The event includes everything for a perfect girls’ night out like, a Lip and Lash Bar-where guests will have
a professional make up artisit apply false lashes and the perfect lip colour,  a complimentary themed martini,
Appetizers and gourmet popcorn station, Waterloo Regional Fire Fighters acting as Prince Charmings, Commemorative photo,
Gift bags and a chance to win a grand prize. But the featured aspect of the event
will be the exclusive access to a fabulous shoe auction with wonderful shoes donated by local businesses and individuals.

Mother’s Day Campaign......……………………………………………..May
Family and Children’s Services’ Mother’s Day Campaign recognizes the need to ensure expectant mothers in crisis have
the essential ‘extras’ necessary for the health and well-being of their unborn children. Gifts made to the campaign will go
to the
Better Beginnings Fund to provide much-needed items such as medications, prenatal vitamins, personal
hygiene products, nutritious food, etc, for local, vulnerable expectant mothers to help them to give their babies the best
possible start in life and to ensure that all babies are born safe, healthy, and loved.

Life Adventures Campaign at Montanas Restuarants....................May
In springtime a very special campaign to help ensure that no child misses out on the healing properties of summer
due to financial limitations it takes. Staff at Montana's invite patrons to give a small donation to make this summer brighter
for a child from this community. In exchange, the patron receives a colourful paper Adventurship card on which they can
write their name. The cards are posted throughout the location creating a lively landscape for patrons. Local artist,
Sue Wicks (daughter of legendary artist Ben Wicks) lent her talents to create the one-of-a-kind Adventureship cards.

HOT SHOTS Street Hockey Tournament .................... May
This exciting two-day street hockey tournament features entertainment, prizes, celebrities, and
Canada’s favourite pastime—hockey.
You don’t have to play in the tournament to enjoy the weekend!
On Saturday check out the BBQ provided by Moose
Winooski's, street fair with rides, games, facepaining and more

Chip In Fore Kids Golf Tournament ............... June
Super fun golf tournament to support kids and families in our community includes, 18 Holes of golf with shared cart, Video Swing Analysis, 50-50 draw,
Bonus Cards (putting contest and mulligan), Silent Auction, Delicious Dinner and Amazing Prizes.

Tooney Tuesdays hosted by the City of Kitchener ...Tuesday Evenings in July
Fun-filled, action packed family entertainment held Tuesday evenings in July. Children can have their
faces painted by the amazing Kelly's Clowns, free give aways from CHYM FM, temporary tattoos and
other goodies from Family and Children's Services. Toonies are collected during the evening in support of the
Foundation. Bring out the whole family for a guaranteed fantastic time of live entertainment in front of Kitchener City Hall.

Tooney Tuesdays are held Tuesdays in July, from 6:45pm to 8:15pm at Kitchener City Hall . Entertainment for all ages!
Donations of a tooney are requested to support the ongoing work of Family and Children's Services of the Waterloo Region.

Adopt a Family Holiday Program.............November - December
It's hard to image that during the holiday season some families don't have presents under their tree or food on
the table. You can share the festive spirit this holiday season with a family in need by participating in the ADOPT A FAMILY Holiday Program.
This program helps families enjoy the holiday season knowing their community believes in the spirit of giving. Make your holiday season complete by adopting a family today!

Gingerbread Village
Last Saturday in November
This fun filled family event is presented in partnership with CHYM FM and Gore Mutual Insurance. Kids, families,
community groups and businesses are invited to take part in a gingerbread house competition!

Join us at this special event held on the last Saturday in November at Cambridge City Hall, Cambridge.
Take a walk through Gingerbread Village, decorate cookies, do a craft or vote on your favourite entry.

Deck the Walls .................................. November - December
Deck the Walls with Trees of Hope is a fun, interactive campaign to kick start the holiday season. This in-store promotion asks customers to
donate a tooney to the CHYM FM Tree of Hope in exchange for a colourful paper tree on which customers can write their name and have
displayed around their location; creating a dazzling landscape of colour, and demonstrating their community spirit. All supplies and
materials necessary to get the campaign off the ground are provided; you won't even have to decorate for the holiday season!

96.7 CHYM FM Tree of Hope .........................December
The 96.7 CHYM FM Tree of Hope campaign, held in December, is the Foundation's signature fundraising event.
The event's rise in popularity is reflective of the increased support we have seen from the local community; helping to build a
community that truly values and cares for children. To learn more about the Tree of Hope

Dress Down Days
A enjoyable and easy way to support the Foundation! Money raised from dress down days can make a real difference
in the life of a child from this community. The Foundation can provide colourful and fun stickers for anytime of the year or specifically for the CHYM FM Tree of Hope.
