Like many teens struggling with issues stemming from a family life in turmoil, Sherry grappled with addictions and interactions with the police. But, were it not for her own inner strength and personal commitment to becoming more, her story could have ended there.
Today, Sherry has not only battled through – but overcome — her addictions. And, this past year she achieved her high school diploma. This fall, Sherry has enrolled in Conestoga College where she will take the courses necessary to become a social worker. Her goal is to help other youth facing the same bleak cycle of drugs and crime that once was her story.
Sherry is the proud recipient of the inaugural
Peter Ringrose Scholarship.
